After I said:

Well, I heard a new book from Michael is in the works, titled, 'I Smoked the Grass on My Father's Lawn Anyway, Nyah, Nyah!' One of the refutations is that Charlie never did get him braces...

Gloria stated:

And making 'A Countess from Hong Kong'. And marrying Lita. Yep...those were mistakes.

Hanhuck ....

You taking Joycie-baby?! Can I come too??

(If this isn't a straight line; I don't know what is!)

fans).

Yes, isn't this what Oona had suggested as the main reason why the British seem to have forgotten CC?

But as for what I think was CC's major flaw, it's he made so few films in the 20s & 30s. I've seen all of his classics so many times, I now tend to save my viewing of his films for theater showings exclusively

Thank you for acknowledging the buckwheat cakes!!

Is this where we gang up on Joycie-baby and throw HER from the train? We are talking about Joyce Milton, aren't we? Hate to throw an innocent Joycie-baby from a train.

Yes, Lou, I agree. He might also have done some acting in other directors' films, because Chaplin, the performer, would have been wonderful to watch no matter who would have been making the film.

He tested the waters once with the idea of appearing as 'Landru' in Orson Welles' original version of the Verdoux project.

And John Huston claimed that he almost convinced him to play Moses in THE BIBLE.

But Chaplin was a shrewd businessman and probably wanted to ration his screen appearances in order to keep their value high.
