Oona and her domestic problems

What's up with Oona? I read somewhere that her father disowned her, or something. Why would she marry someone so old? Or was it Charlie's idea, to distract the media from his so-called communist remarks and actions? If this was true, it would make sense to marry a eighteen- year-old (Was she eighteen?). One last question, when did she die?

Good point. I'm sure O'Neill was snobbish about the superiority of the theater to film, but they are sister arts. I don't think O'Neill invented modern drama singlehanded, however!

The man was an sob. He disinherited his son because he was a drug addict. Did he ever look in the mirror? And he disinherited his daughter because she married a man whose morals he didn't approve of!

As for him being manipulated by Carlotta, he seemed to like it. I don't think that absolves him of responsibility.
