The new edition of LIMELIGHT came out. I haven't gotten a chance to read it, but it looks good AND bulky.

One article I'm particularly interested in is the article on Chaplin's Musical Career with behind the scenes info by Eric James, Chaplin's Music Associate.

There IS a mystery too in this edition. As to WHO is the Tramp impersonator standing with Chaplin. According to Maurice Bessy, it's Jackie Coogan! But that seems awfully hard to believe. Looks more like Colleen Moore; he/she has her hairstyle anyway.

Any guesses?

This issue of LL is great as always! Yes, the James article is fascinating, and so is the great news of David Shepard's inspired choice of having him score six Essanays. (Wonder which ones? My guess would be that 'The Tramp' and 'Police' will be among them...). Since I thought nothing could top the choice of scores for Slapstick Encyclopedia, I'm curious now!

And, question - whatever became of the 'LP Anthology of Chaplin music' mentioned in the article, and/or is the 'Musical Tribute to CC' available anywhere?

Thanks, Bonnie, for the good work.
