Hi,
I'm hoping all you Charlie Chaplin fans can help me. I work in an advertising agency and I'm trying to find the name of the movie where he tries to eat a cherry with a spoon.
Please get back to me at the following e-mail address:
Thanks for you quick help!!

Don't think that one exists, Kristina. But if you're interested in watermelon, pasta, or (do I dare say it?) hot dogs, we can fix you up instantly.

Doesn't Anita Garvin do that bit in Laurel and Hardy's FROM SOUP TO NUTS (1928)?

Two films featured a cherry on a plate trying to be placed on a spoon or fork; none of them are Chaplin films. FROM SOUP TO NUTS and THE SECOND HUNDRED YEARS, both starring Laurel and Hardy. SOUP has Anita Garvin going for the cherry, SECOND has Stan trying to get the cherry.

Sounds more like the Anita Garvin-scene in the Laurel&Hardy film 'From Soup to Nuts' (1929). The cherry keeps eluding her spoon and she gets more and more frustrated. The joke is repeated by James Finlayson in one of 'the Boys' features also, but the title escapes at the moment. Ask around at alt.comedy.laurel-hardy.
