If you don't believe in this, don't hate on me because I do, please. But was Charlie Chaplin in the Illuminati? I've always been like 80% sure he was, but I've never seen actual proof.

I highly doubt it. Isn't the Illuminati a secret society who supposedly controls world events? That doesn't sound like something Charlie would have been part of, and in everything I have read about him, I have never seen anything about him being a member of such a group or associated with it in any way. Charlie a member of a group that starts wars? That doesn't sound like "peacemonger" Charlie Chaplin to me--just watch the final speech of The Great Dictator.

Jayden, why do you think he was a member? There's no "hate" here, I'm just curious.

Well I have different views on the Illuminati. I believe that all different kinds of people in the media are involved with the group, not just random people. Movie stars, singers, government officials... what have yous. And they've been around for a while, so its not like its anything new, as you know. I just kind of assumed, what with his emmense popularity and power how he couldn't have been involved with them. And wasn't he in the Masons? Or perhaps that was just Buster Keaton, I can never remember.

Anyways, it was just strict curiosity. I'm a huge concpiracy theorist, so I can't help but wonder about these things.

I've heard that Buster Keaton was a Freemason but not Charlie. My understanding of Chaplin was that he was not one to join groups. He never joined a political party in his life. People have made lots assumptions about Charlie over the years with little or no facts to back them up. The same must be said for the Illuminati. There are no facts. My opinion is that he would never have been part of a group like this. It goes against everything he believed in.

Thats why I'd never state that I was 100% sure of anything, unless its something that can be proven. Thanks for the input

OMG I love a good conspiracy theory, and the illuminati is one of my favorites. But I can't imagine Chaplin being apart of that for all the same reasons Jess pointed out. Plus, Chaplin was a lone wolf kinda guy.

A few years ago my youth pastor was bashing on Chaplin saying he was an evil leader of the media, and the wildness of the 20's was stemmed from his influence. (I'm so glad I don't attend this church any longer )

I never agreed with those statements, but I've still wondered if he was or not. It would break my heart if he was, so I pray ya'll are right in saying he wasn't. Lol Thanks, guys

I almost spilled my coffee when I read this. Charlie an evil leader of the media? He hated the media. Here's a man who was very private & generally avoided interviews or calling attention to himself in any way. So to think he was a leader of the media is pretty laughable.

Where do people come up with this stuff?

Jayden, I don't think you have anything to worry about. This whole Chaplin/Illuminati thing has no basis in fact.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. I call myself a true fan of Charlie's films, and as a person I believe he was someone to admire. But I think he was a freemason, his thoughts, his genialty, originality, and many other aspects was signs of someone with priviliged knowledge (you can read about the freemasons, to understand better what I'm tryin to tell you) and the clearest example is the famous and really awesome speech of his movie "The Great Dictator",.. I bet when you listened it, your heart stopped beating! Mine did.. but think more deeply,.. the agenda of the illuminati is based on the NEW WORLD ORDER... a new world where we are all "united". Listen the speech again and tell me what you think,.. it is beautiful, but definitely illuminati..

But despite of everthing I said,.. there is no reason for you to be disappointed of Charlie.. I strongly believe most of these people, don't know what they are really doing,.. they are told fairy tales, and at the end they truly believe they are in the right path,..they think they are helping people... hence, Charlie's heart was pure, there is no doubt about it, the problem is the people behind him and behind the hollywood industry...

Well considering the fact that people are hired today to promote sex drugs and alcoholism through music and movies controlled by the illuminati, look at the current singers of today, if say Charlie Chaplin was probably working for the illuminati. At the end of the show you see the "panoramic"or"pathoramic" film production logo, it is the shape of a triangle with an eye in the middle. That's clearly illuminati 100%. Now Charlie my not have been involved personally, but he was following scripts that were manufactured by people involved in the illuminati and they were probably promoting unconscious messages that are negative harming society little by little through Charlie's talent. Check out the logo when you can.

Chaplin did not subscribe or belong to any political party or organization. He was a humanist and solely dedicated to work, friends and family.
