I agree that the choice of subject matter is a bit odd here, and the result more played like a black comedy about the sheer dumbness of the body snatchers. However, there were also touching moments, such as the strength of Geraldine Chaplin, handling the phone calls standing in as Oona, or the farmer honoring Chaplin with a memorial sign on his temporary resting place.
