Hi,

I am looking for two Charlie Chaplin films for my mother. She remembers scenes from the film but not the title. Can you help me locate the titles from a scene discription? 1. He is in a cabin and is very hungry so he eats his shoes 2. He is in a machine shop with spinning wheels and he gets tangled up in the wheels.

Please let me know. Thank you.

Hi

I'm not sure if those descriptions are about one movie. The first description fits to "Gold Rush" when the Tramp prepares and eats his shoe because he is hungry; and the second scene is definetely "Modern Times" when the Tramp worked in a factory and he got inside the machine... I hope you both have fun watching those movies
take care

Hello,
I remember those scenes very well. The movies have been mentioned by another guest on the forum I see. And yes, they are "Modern Times" and "The Gold Rush". On The Charlie Chaplin collection dvd box set, you'll find these movies as well as a few others.

On the charlie chaplin collection dvd release of The Gold Rush, you have options of seeing the film in it's original 1925 release, or the 1942 re-lease with a voice over, which I think was recited by Charlie Chaplin himself. However, I could be wrong about who does the 1942 sound version on The Gold Rush.
