Did Charlie make any comedy movies after making the Great Dictator movie ? What are his top three best movies that offer the most humor ? Did his son ever follow his fathers footsteps and act in movies ? I'd like to read more about Charlie's life is there a good web site I can go to for more information ?

regards Brian

Was Chaplin Revue made by Charlie or was it just an assortment from his previous films?

I also agree that The Circus is one of his best. Especially in regards to the criteria of offering the most humor. I'd put it above the 3 you named first. Perhaps those are the greater works of comedy art, but for more laughs per reel, I'd go with The Circus. Also The Kid. I'd even say that the Mutuals offer more humor than those later movies which are referred to as being his classics. Alan Glick

Well, we wasn't as full of himself back in 1916-1917 as he became.

I would use The Circus to introduce people to Chaplin. From there they can go at their own risk, but should likely look at most of the silents before examining the talkies.

The Mutuals are his best pre-1920 work, while the Keystones and Essanays are more impressive once you're familiar with the evolution of his style.

Actually, I've seen very few of his son's movies. But from what I know, really none of them followed their fathers style. Many of the movies were bit parts, foreign films, and B Movies.

As for the list of three movies...like I said...it's an opinion call. Ask 20 Chaplin Fans and you will get 20 different lists

And yes...the Circus is a great movie! Of all the Chaplin features, The Circus and The Kid are probably the two that I watch most often. But you have to go a long way to beat The Gold Rush...that is my all-time favorite.
