Chaplins silents and Food

Greetings!

I'm wondering if the Chaplinians can lend me some assistance...

I'm in the process of proposing a book (which must remain subjectless, for the moment, until it's accepted), and need to determine scenes in Chaplin's silent films that have food or eating sequences.

Any and all suggestions used will be fully acknowledged in the book, so let me know who you are!

The quickest answer to your question, fortunately or unfortunately, is almost all of them. Food is virtually an obsessive motif in Chaplin's films. Sometimes he's eating it, sometimes he's serving it, sometimes both, but you can find it almost everywhere.

By the way, there's an article in the issue of _Flashback_ Bruce Lawton quotes on 'Edible Signs: Chaplin's Food Imagery,' by Anthony Guneratne. It's at least a good start on this massive subject.
