Is there a restaurant in LA called Campanile that was once Charlie's office?

According to an interview with Jodie Foster I read yesterday, the interview took place in a deco-style restaurant called Campanile that was 'once Charlie Chaplin's office space'.

Charlie's

Did it give an address? The only office space other than the Chaplin studios he wrote about was an office he rented downtown L.A. It was to be for his music company. He said that he only sold 3 records of of a song he wrote and only to people who had offices above them in the same building. Said the company didn't make any money, so it folded. Maybe this is the same place?

Campanile is a very nice restaurant on La Brea about a dozen or so blocks south of the Studio. There is a connection, but it was *not* CC's office space. After her divorce, Lita gave her mother some money, which she used to have the buiding built as office spaces.

The day before she went into the hospital, Bonnie and I visited and had a nice chat with Lita. We made a date to have dinner with her at Campanile after she got better. Sadly, it never happened.

See my other post re Campanile.

The letterhead for the Charlie Chaplin Music Publishing Company says the address was Blanchard Hall, 233 South Broadway, Opposite City Hall. The phone number was Main 4762 but I don't think anyone's answering there now.

DavidP.S. for Gerald, there's a nice 'then' illustration of the building on the letterhead, too.
