Since TCM is airing a restored version of Greed tomorrow night, I thought it would be interesting to reflect on a question.

Both Chaplin and Von Stroheim were known for shooting much more footage than ever appeared in their pictures. However, I wonder if Chaplin would have been more open to Von's indulgences (had he been on his payroll), since they were similar to his own, or if the 'businessman' in him would have emerged and he would have become just as impatient as the producers at Universal and MGM?
