Does anybody know any sources (books, magazines, internet, etc.) that have any info on Chaplin's supposed intent on making a film on Napoleon OTHER than the books Charlie Chaplin His life and art and Charlie Chaplin: Comic Genius, both by (I think) David Robinson.

CC's My Life in Pictures, Haining's Centennary Celebration, Cotes & Niklaus, I'm sure there are many more. Why not hit the library?
Jodi & Rick - nice to see you back. I wasn't convinced by Jodi's theory when I checked it out a few years ago. Can't recall exactly why.

Hi,
Alistair Cooke's book, 'Six Men,' has a chapter on Chaplin. Cooke discusses, among other things, his experiences with CC on the aborted Napoleon project.

That's one of the more important sources. There is also some info about Chaplin's fascination with Napoleon and his negotiations to buy rights to a book on Napoleon in May Reeves's _The Intimate Charlie Chaplin_, now available in ENGLISH. If you haven't read it yet, get a copy from Amazon or your local library. The concept of the book Reeves describes later shows up in _Dictator_.
Hi Rick and Jodi. Great to hear from you.
