Can someone help me? I have the Davis soundtrack to City Lights, but isn't there another CD he did of Chaplin's music? I don't know the name of it, or what's on it. I bought a CD recently of Chaplin movie music, but it sounds like it was taken straight off of the movies...same strange-sounding bassoons and oboes.

If this CD is not a figment of my imagination, please let me know what it's called....and if you know where I can get it, I would appreciate that info, too.

Thanks!!

Kathy -

The CD you're thinking of is called THE FILM MUSIC OF CHARLES CHAPLIN on BMG Classics (an RCA Victor label) and contains selections from THE KID, THE GOLD RUSH, CITY LIGHTS and MODERN TIMES. I'm sure you can find it on cdnow.com or amazon.com. For my money it's the best modern recording of CC music.
